The Mauao Challenger Beach Volleyball Tournament is an annual event hosted by Volleyball Bay of Plenty, that combines the love for the sport with the stunning backdrop of the Bay of Plenty region.

Location: Mount Main Beach (by Commons Ave/ Marine Parade intersection)
Date: Saturday the 14th of December 2024
Estimated Time: 8:30am - 5pm
Grades:
Cost: $80 per team
Prize money will only be awarded to the place getters in the open grades and only if a minimum of 16 teams enter. You will be advised of this once entries close.
All games will be played to the best of 3 sets. Some morning games may be sets to 15, 15, 11. The draw and format is to be advised.
Please aim to be at the Mount Main beach by 8:30am to check-in your team as games start at 9:00am. Rubbish and recycling bins will be provided - please use these and keep our beach clean. Come prepared for all conditions.
Each team will be required to duty.
Cancelations and refunds:
A decision will be made the day prior to the event by 5pm with regards to weather cancelations, so please keep an eye on your email if the weather is looking questionable. We will go ahead in light rain but anything worse may result in a cancelation. If the tournament is cancelled, you will be offered a refund or can use this entry fee to enter into Mauao 2.
You will be able to get a refund if you pull out of the tournament by the 15th of October. If you pull out after this date, you may not be refunded due to the draw already being made. We do understand things such as injuries and sickness happen but please if this happens, let us know ASAP.
